{"id":306,"date":"2008-02-24T11:21:17","date_gmt":"2008-02-24T16:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kabt.org\/2008\/02\/24\/research-blogging\/"},"modified":"2008-02-24T11:21:17","modified_gmt":"2008-02-24T16:21:17","slug":"research-blogging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kabt.org\/?p=306","title":{"rendered":"Research Blogging"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.researchblogging.org\/\" title=\"Research Blogging\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kabt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/logo.gif\" alt=\"Research Blog Logo\" \/> <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The web gets better and better every day in the sense that important information is easier to organize, find, and categorize.\u00a0 This web site is a small example.\u00a0 Today&#8217;s biology teachers have an unprecedented access to original research.\u00a0 It&#8217;s imperative that we take advantage of this in order to keep up with the developments in the field if we are to reflect the biology of today in our classrooms.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve referenced folks at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scienceblogs.com\/\" title=\"Science Blogs\" target=\"_blank\">ScienceBlogs<\/a> web site a number of times, here on the KABT Bioblog.\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scienceblogs.com\/\" title=\"Science Blogs\" target=\"_blank\">ScienceBlogs<\/a> is a great resource but while the science is generally good, you also have to wade through posts about religion, politics, technology and personal topics to get to the science most applicable for your teaching.\u00a0 The science bloggers, themselves, recognized this problem not long ago and a new site was born&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.researchblogging.org\/\" title=\"Research Blogging\" target=\"_blank\">Research Blogging<\/a>.\u00a0 From their web site:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"sidebar-head\">About Research Blogging<\/p>\n<p>Research Blogging helps you locate and share academic blog posts about peer-reviewed research.
